The minutes are lengthy accounts of all business and include financial reports, grievance reports, education reports on the ministerial candidates, and discussions of many topics including; education and their affiliation with Westfield College, the growing importance of Sunday School, the need to support the distribution of the church publications, the growing work of foreign missions especially in Africa, temperance and the evils of secret societies . Amendments to the church constitution and church policy are discussed. The financial reports include those from the churches in central Illinois as well as the Annual Conference report.
